Tariq Akeel

Tariq Akeel is a corporate attorney at Baker McKenzie. He received his psychology degree from Brown University in 2016 and his JD/MBA from Michigan State University in 2020. He used to play professional soccer abroad in Finland and now enjoys his spare time passing on knowledge of the game to young players.

He based out of Chicago but his family, including his four brothers, live in the greater Detroit area. His youngest brother is 13 years and his older brother — he falls second in line at 28 years old. He is proud to be of the Egyptian nationality and tries to spend a month or two back in his homeland each year. In addition, Tariq spent 8-years learning Arabic and is mildly conversational in the language.
